Build AI-powered mobile apps this summer online with MIT FutureMakers!

If you’re attending school in the United States and will be in Grades 6-8 (Track I) or Grade 9-12 (Track II) for the next academic year, why not join your peers this summer to learn how to design and build mobile apps while also contributing to the future of AI and your community?

APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2024 MIT FUTUREMAKERS PROGRAM ARE NOW CLOSED AND APPLICANTS WILL BE INFORMED OF THEIR STATUS NO LATER THAN MAY 31st, 2024

Space is very limited – apply today!

This free, six-week fully online program running from July 1 through August 9, 2024, will bring together middle and high-school students from across the country as a diverse group of highly motivated learners who want to develop new skills creating mobile apps that use artificial intelligence and also learn important career skills like communication, project management, collaboration, and leadership.
As a FutureMakers participant, you will learn foundational concepts for building mobile apps using an online visual coding environment called MIT App Inventor along with its AI-powered extensions. You’ll also explore data science and use these techniques to better understand the effects of climate change. All in all, you’ll get lots of hands-on practice with your new AI coding skills and collaborate with your teammates to eventually compete in a fast-paced entrepreneurial Create-a-thon by the end of the six weeks!
The program is completely virtual, part-time and free but there is very limited space available, so apply today!

FutureMakers is committed to improving equity in educational and career opportunities for all students and their educators. This program is free for all participants in middle school (grades 6-8), high school (grades 9-12), and some first-year undergraduates, yet only a very limited number of spaces are available for each track. Applicants are selected based on their teacher recommendation and we encourage all students to apply including students from underserved communities within the United States, especially those in schools receiving Title I funding as determined by the U.S. Department of Education and each state. Other admission priorities may include those from underserved and low-income backgrounds and those who are destined to be first-generation college students.

IMPORTANT: ONLY STUDENTS CURRENTLY STUDYING WITHIN THE UNITED STATES INCLUDING PUERTO RICO ARE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS PROGRAM YET CITIZENSHIP IS NOT REQUIRED. OTHER APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

YOU MUST PROVIDE A U.S. ADDRESS AND SCHOOL NAME ON THE APPLICATION THAT WILL BE USED FOR VERIFICATION PURPOSES ONLY. HOME-SCHOOLED STUDENTS WHO RESIDE IN THE UNITED STATES INCLUDING PUERTO RICO ARE ALSO ENCOURAGED TO APPLY.
