
Mary Cate Gustafson-Quiett
Mary Cate Gustafson-Quiett is a pragmatic and human-centered leader at the intersection of education policy and research and the design of curriculum and teacher professional development. As MIT RAISE’s Lead for K-12 Curriculum and Professional Development, Mary Cate combines her teaching experience with her policy training to scope and implement collaborations around the world that help advance RAISE’s mission to empower learners with the knowledge and skills they need to be successful, responsible, and engaged in an increasingly AI-powered society.
Mary Cate joined the MIT STEP (Scheller Teacher Education Program) Lab as an instructional designer in 2020 and in 2021 joined RAISE as the project manager for the RAICA Curriculum. She holds a Master’s in Public Affairs from UC Berkeley and a Bachelor's in Secondary Education from DePaul University. She has 10 years of experience teaching middle school and high school mathematics in public, private, and charter schools in urban, rural, and suburban communities.
Mary Cate is passionate about designing deeply meaningful learning experiences for all types of students and teachers in all types of settings.
