Huge congrats to MIT RAISE director Cynthia Breazeal, just named to the latest class of AAAS fellows, one of academia’s most prestigious honors:

“This year’s class of Fellows are the embodiment of scientific excellence and service to our communities,” said Sudip S. Parikh, Ph.D., AAAS chief executive officer and executive publisher of the ;Science family of journals. “At a time when the future of the scientific enterprise in the U.S. and around the world is uncertain, their work demonstrates the value of sustained investment in science and engineering.”
Breazeal, acclaimed for her work in social robots and now AI education, is author or co-author of over 100 peer-reviewed publications on personalized learning companions for language, literacy, and social-emotional development. She leads not only RAISE but also the MIT Media Lab‘s Personal Robots Group and is dean for digital learning at MIT Open Learning.
